I wrote this almost two years ago… purchased Heritage Artimuss Tall fescue right in the middle of Wichita’s three Month long water restrictions. I applied the seed and starter fertilizer the last day of September. The water restrictions only allowed one day a week watering. After two weeks seed started to show green. After my hopefully last $400+ water bill I can’t wait to see what Artimuss Tall Fesque can do. So much so my lawn service technician informed me that in a recent meeting Heritage Artimuss Tall fescue will most likely be the seed of choice in Wichita to combat the ridiculous water restrictions. Hopefully the lakes surrounding Wichita will start to fill and all residents will see what Heritage Artimuss Tall Fesque can do.
Well here we are now with a golf course lawn both front and back. I had this green over the winter as well. The negative comments are not justified. If you use this product you must use a starter fertilizer to improve your results. The front lawn faces the hot south sun and currently being mowed at 2” high, and watering now restricted to Three days a week which is no problem. The grass actually ran my neighbors burmuda out of town and he too is wanting to switch to Artimuss. I added 25 pounds for three years plus added seed during the winter right before a snowfall and I have mowed four times since February but only every other week. If properly prepared and watered you will get these same results. In Wichita, In Tulsa, and definitely anywhere where the sun shines and even in shade.
This grass seed is the only grass seed that has worked. We have spent so much money on other seed that didn’t produce at all. We seen grass in one week. We will NEVER buy any other seed than artimuss grass seed!
I’ve never enjoyed seeds like these. Germination and longevity are excellent.
I just purchased a 50lb bag of Artimuss Tall Fescue and I must say, I was disappointed. I took a chance because the price was $40-50 less than competitors that I have used over the past 5 years. I over-seeded under what I would consider are the perfect conditions and at the right rate. At about 10-11 days I noticed SOME seedlings, but it’s extremely sparse. It’s now been close to 3 weeks and still nothing. Again, with other competitors, I’ve had wayyyyyy better results in the past. Probably my first and last time purchasing this product.
Full renovation using Artimuss in 2024. Overseed more Artimuss this fall. Results are outstanding! Germination rate is great. After one full year of growth, the grass really thickens and darkens up nice. Highly recommend this seed.
