Tall fescue is a fast-growing, upright turfgrass with outstanding drought and wear resistance. Artimuss takes tall fescue to the next level, using several cultivars to produce the most resilient, the highest quality, and the fastest growing turfgrass when compared to other seed blends out there.

About Artimuss Turf Blend

One thing that sets Artimuss apart from other turf blends is Gravity PGS. It's a plant growth stimulator used on the seeds as a pretreatment to boost growth and development for faster spread, higher density and greener color. Because it's developed with cultivars using Lateral Spread technology, which improves strand density under stress, Artimuss is extremely resistant to drought, heat, traffic and fungal diseases such as gray leaf spot and brown patch.

Areas of Use

Whether it's for DIY yard lovers or lawn and landscape professionals, Artimuss is a recommended turf blend for sites where tall fescue is desired. It uses cultivars known for ranking highly on National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) scores in the Northeast and Transition Zone locations. Some areas of use include:

  • Home lawns
  • Commercial landscapes
  • Municipal sites
  • Sports fields

Benefits of Artimuss

Artimuss uses not one but four different cultivars: Titanium G-LS, Dynamite G-LS, Spyder 2LS and Avenger III. These turf seeds have Lateral Spread parents to boost density, drought tolerance, disease resistance and green color. These cultivars make Artimuss the ultimate tall fescue turfgrass blend available. Some of the main benefits include:

  • Tolerates drought, heat and other stressors
  • Resistant against diseases like gray leaf spot
  • Treated with Gravity PGS for faster growth
  • Compact growth for low-mowing ability
  • Excellent spring and fall density

Greatest grass seed ever!!

Greatest grass seed ever!

Good seed, nice color, but make sure you can water it daily.

We were off to a great start, double average rainfall on our new seed under a layer of compost for the first 40 days. Good germination in 5-7 days and some nice growth with almost daily rainfall. Much of our area was not irrigated. A little more than a month into the progress the hot weather and drought hit. We did our best to add some additional water on long hoses but it struggled and much of the new growth browned and disappeared. Our first rain in two weeks was last night and there are still lots of small blades but much has been lost above ground. Starting a lawn is very tricky and you need the water or it is a difficult task.
The growth under shade trees has been very good. Will hope for the best and continue in the fall with additional seed.

Very little germination

So far so good.

Our first use of Artimuss Tall Fescue Blend so far has been very promising. We are at the northern Border of GA and NC above Blairsville. We carefully prepped our heavy clay roadways and lawns with extra aged composted hardwood bark sifted through a 3/4" expanded mesh. With > 1" depth of coverage we waited for consistent rains to be forecasted as we are unable to water multiple times per day. We laid down seed with a precision drop spreader per specifications given to us by the Turf experts. Again covered the seed with more compost to hold the water. This dark mulch holds water well but can dry out in direct sun.

The seed looked good and with a light rain actually worked its way down into the native clay and light soils.

The rains came and within 4-7 days many of the seeds sprouted. This looks like a good start. Obviously we are at the mercy of Nature for watering and temperatures and am happy to report more rain today and more germination.
Might use a netting for areas on a slope next time as we had some wash out but do see lots of sprouting grass in the exposed clay. Plan is to overseed or fill in bare spots once this base is established. Very important to keep moist as any area that dried out with sunlight is slower or bare. Germination in perfectly watered and protected areas is excellent.

I ordered two bags and one was refunded otherwise great product and fast shipping.
