Not the worst but I expected more
Poorly packaged, been several weeks and have so far only minimal sprouting in spots and have been properly watering lawn daily, So far not impressed.
Planted in a heavy clay soil on Labor Day. The seed sprouted like KBG and took awhile to establish. First mow was the first week of October. Three mows in now and it’s filling in really nice. I’m excited to see how it performs in a St. Louis summer.
I purchased Heritage Artimuss Tall fescue right in the middle of Wichita’s three Mo th long water restrictions. I applied the seed and starter fertilizer the last day of September. The water restrictions only allowed one say a week watering. After two weeks seed started to show green. After my hopefully last $400+ water bill I can’t wait to see what Artimuss Tall Fesque can do. So much so my lawn service technician informed me that in a recent meeting Heritage Artimuss Tall fescue will most likely be the seed of choice in Wichita to combat the ridiculous water restrictions. Hopefully the lakes surrounding Wichita will start to fill and all residents will see what Heritage Artimuss Tall Fesque can do.
I have purchased a few bags of seed from Heritage and they have all been excellent. The Artimuss seed was used in both overseeding and new seeding on large bare spots. The grass came in quickly, very high germination rates and looks amazing right now. I will be picking up more of this in the spring.
