There are two types of fertilizers on the market - organic and inorganic. Organic fertilizer has lower values of NPK, but many if not all of the micronutrients a plant needs to survive. Inorganic material has high totals of NPK, is soluble and provides slow release abilities and typically comes at a lower cost.
